If you’re from Kentland, you’ve likely seen the newest video we released titled ‘This is Kentland’. We crafted this video for purpose of telling a story that already in motion.
What’s life like in Kentland, Indiana? Well, for starters, we’re a friendly community that’s fun, safe, passionate and driven. We got up early before before dawn and started getting our gear ready. We captured the sun as it peaked over the horizon and warmed us to the core. This is where the filming began. Minute after minute, we were moving to capture all of the elements that make up our town. We caught life happening up and down streets, in neighborhoods, at parks and in fields. We event caught a wedding (congrats, lovebirds). It was a long, productive day. We couldn’t have asked for better weather.
So Why Were We Filming?
We’re working to benefit Kentland in the way of economic development. This means telling Kentland’s story in a clear, concise way for new businesses and families to get to know us. A Brief Summary on Opportunity Zones
The Opportunity Zone Program is a federal program designed to spur community change. It provides tax benefits to investors who hold their investment in select areas (Opportunity Zones) for a period of five to ten years. Kentland is located within an opportunity zone, and we’re inviting new industries, jobs and families to root themselves in our hometown.
The best way to invite new life here to Kentland is through what’s called a ‘Prospectus’.
You can view a prospectus as a type of business card that carries valuable information and data regarding a town. We’re creating a prospectus for Kentland that invites interested parties to invest in our opportunity zone. We’re also investing in branding and the power of video to help tell our unique story to the world.
