Background

I grew up in Watseka, Illinois with three siblings- one brother and two sisters. I made Kentland my home after opening Monical’s Pizza in the late 90s. My wife Crystal and I have five children and 6 grandchildren with one on the way.

I wear many different hats in my day-to-day life with owning my own business, being the fire chief and the town building commissioner for the town of Kentland.

Monical’s Pizza

I have worked in the Pizza business since I was 16 years old. I am the owner of several Monical’s Pizza locations as well as the Vice President of franchise sales for the state of Indiana. A large number of family members are a part of our company. My siblings, uncles, cousins, and even some of my children work in the company or are owners. We have made this a family business.

Community Involvement

This is my 20th year on the fire department. We have a very strong team at the KFD and we train hard to keep our community safe. Sometimes people forget that we are volunteers. We take a lot of time out of our daily lives to take classes, train, or get the certifications we need.

As building commissioner, I’m responsible for issuing permits, inspections and answering any zoning or code questions.

I am also a member of the Aubrey’s Angels Committee in which we raise funds to help children and their families with medical and other necessary expenses during times of devastating illness or injuries.

Safe Community

I love our community as a whole. I’ve been blessed with a ton of great friends and acquaintances in this town. One of my favorite things to do is take an evening cruise on the golf cart and stop and talk to friends.

My wife and I have raised our children in this community and I’ve always had a peace of mind when they were walking around the parks, to the community center to play basketball or riding their bikes to practice. I want Kentland to be known as it is- a safe place to raise your kids.
