An Entrepreneurial Spirit
I own several businesses in town and launched WB Mowing about 13 years ago, starting with lawn care. As I grew up, I got more and more business, until it became a full-time operation. After WB Mowing, I owned a building with a facility suitable for a gym. Instead of renting out the space, I decided to open Inspiration Fitness in 2018. Following that, I bought Snap Self Storage in the same year.
I’ve always been a hard-working person and went to Purdue University for 4 years for building and construction management. I was going to work construction but then decided to do my own thing, and it’s been going well. I decided to stay here in Kentland and use what I learned at Purdue and build up my businesses.
Investing in Kentland
I am part of the Task Force in Kentland, helping do odds and ends around the town, which is how I got interested in the Town Council. I’ve lived in Kentland my whole life, and I see how young people are stepping up to these types of jobs less and less. At 26, I’m coming into this role, bringing a younger face to the community, and sharing a new perspective.
Moving forward in Kentland, the Task Force is doing a lot of cool things, and being a part of that is great. I’m very into outdoor activities, so seeing the parks getting integrated into the town, along with walking paths, is great. Since I’m in the construction industry, we’re really lacking in housing so I would really like to focus on getting more housing to the area.
A Land of Growing Opportunity
In Kentland, I’m passionate about the support of our town’s growth and giving people more opportunities. For the future, I’d love to see more housing and an increase in industry to benefit our area. I hope to get more walking paths, more outside activities for the summer, and have more events in Kentland.
