Kentland Graduate Spotlight

Hi,

I’m Lexi Rowe, a 2023 graduate of South Newton. I recently started my freshman year at Purdue University. As I began my journey, I attended the Boiler Gold Rush. This program was fun for incoming freshmen and helped us become familiar with the campus and resources. I’m majoring in Speech and Language Sciences with the career goal of becoming a Speech Pathologist.

Continuing through my first semester, I applied and was selected to be on the Health and Human Sciences student council, and participated in the Mentor-Mentee program. Being on the student council has allowed me to be involved in several community events. After my first semester, I was excited to earn semester honors, be awarded the Dean’s List, and be inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies.

Being from a small rural school, it took me a little while to adjust to a college as big as Purdue, but I look forward to the great opportunities ahead. Growing up in Kentland allowed me this awesome opportunity, and I still look forward to coming home on school breaks!
